So a while back I decided that I'd make a video of myself speaking Korean and put it on youtube. Well it is still sitting there but almost 40,000 views later, I am now thinking of doing an updated version. Has to be interesting and has to be in Korean. Got any ideas for the next video? Singing? 6 weeks of rehab

It is true... For the next 6 weeks I will be at a rehabilitation centre. But instead of sitting in groups talking to people like Lindsey Lohan and Mel Gibson, I will be helping people with physical problems achieve things like walking and activities of daily living. I am looking forward to it, and the 2 month break I will get after I complete this clinical placement.

I went out to football training last night and I'm proud to announce that I didn't tear anything, just really sore from not doing any exercise for the past 6 months or so (marriage will do that to you). Freja and I figured that it was important for me to get to footy so I'd stay sane after the amount of uni and work that I'm doing, it might also allow me to lose a bit of my gut (we named it Howard).

Life is good, Freja turned 27 and is keeping busy. She is mega talented. Last night she tried out for a choir in town at the cathedral and got in. She'll be singing again in no time. I'm a lucky guy. We are very blessed and do recognise the blessings in our life.

So... Been a while. Life is pretty hectic but and have little time to explain but here is a little run down.

1. Got married. (that was fun)
2. Went to Fiji (that was really fun)
3. Had a family Christmas in Sydney (that was loud and fun)
4. Had our first roadtrip of 1600km (we made it fun)
5. Both Freja and I work tonnes!!! (no fun, but we have money)
6. We bought a house, inspected it and cooled off (that was stressful)
7. Sent Mum and Dad off on to a mission in Finland (they'll have fun)
8. I'm doing a placement at The Royal Adelaide Hospital (they trust me)
9. I'm growing a beard (beard must not exceed length of hair on head)
10. I look like I'm 3 months pregnant (I need to exercise)

I think I'll blog a little more when we have the internet at home and when I'm not working and doing Uni stuff all the time.

I have known Freja Cross for over two and a half years and dated for quite a chunk of that as well. On Saturday night, we went out for dinner, went to an amusement park, took to the sky and the rest is history. She said yes!!! We are both excited for eternity and love each other heaps. She is beautiful in so many different ways. Very driven, musically talented, bright and laughs at me, just name a few things.

It's still early days, as we haven't picked a date or a place, but we'll get round to more planning when Freja gets home from London and Rome in three weeks. I'm sure the rest of the year will be a fun and a busy time as we prepare for the big day. Freja will be moving to Adelaide at the end of July and let the good times roll.

This video was taken at six flags magic mountain in California while we were over there in November. I decided I would take a video of us on the X2 roller coaster. I'm pretty sure I'm making a loud noise to make it seem like it was more scary than it actually was. I don't know what Freja will say about that after our little trip to Dreamworld in QLD. It was a pretty rad ride and I'm glad I captured it on video.

I'm updating the look

For the last few days I have been slightly updating the look of my blog. Maybe because exams are just around the corner and it gives me a little time to procrastinate. I've added a skype button, a live location buttons and few other little things. It's pretty early in the morning and really don't have all that much to say now, but I'd say in 3 weeks when it is my uni break I'll have plenty to say. Exams are upon us but that wont stop me from heading over to Sydney once again to see Freja. It seems like I've been travelling a bit, maybe because I have but that will all come to a stop when she moves over here in July. I'm looking for a place for her to board for a period of time, maybe 4-6 months kinda thing. So if any of you readers (people I know) have a spare room and like the idea of having someone else in the house, let me know. Bed is calling...

Kimchi Chigae (Kimchi soup) 김치 치개

I'm pretty much wanting to eat Korean food right now. I have had dinner already which was very very nice courtesy of Mum. If I was going to eat something Korean right now it would be Kimchi Chigae which is a spicy Korean soup full of cabbage. I made it quite a bit on the mission and really should get around to making it in the near future cos it really is simple and very tasty. Here it is for any of you out there that are game enough to try to make some real Asian food.

Ingredients

- 5 cups of kimchi (you can get this at a Korean supermarket)
- 400g of cubed pork belly (or uncooked bacon)
- 1/2 a sliced onion
- 1 can of tuna
- 3 tablespoons sliced spring onions
- cubes of firmed tofu

- 1 tablespoon Korean chili paste (Gochujang)

Directions

- Put the kimchi (and it's fluid) in a pot and add pork, onions and chili paste.
- Pour in a generous amount of the water to cover them.
- Heat on high until kimchi is wilted add tuna then reduce to simmer 15-20 minutes.
- Add the cubes of tofu - and simmer 5 more minutes.
- Turn off the heat and add spring onions.
- Serve with steamed rice.

Or if someone wants to come round and make it for me I won't have to make and we can both enjoy it together... The water can be interchanged with stock as well. We were never rich enough to use stock :P

Life goes on

After months of no blogging I have decided to get off my butt and then sit down on my butt and start writing something. The trip is over and it was so much fun. Something that I felt like I needed to do and I'm glad that I got it done. Over 80 days visiting 5 different countries, catching up with and meeting family and visiting converts and close church friends in Korea. Big thanks to all those that allowed us to stay with them (It made a massive difference).

I'm back into the swing of things. I now work for the Australian Taxation Office which will help me survive the next 2 years at Uni. I work 9pm-1am so it doesn't interfere with anything. I'm at Uni for 3 days a week and have started playing basketball in a local social comp. Our team name is Air Gordon and we got our uniforms made in the Philippines.

Ellen's wedding was 2 weeks ago and it was nice for Freja to come down for it. We'll both be heading up to Queensland next month for a friends wedding. It'll be nice to see her again. Long distance isn't ideal but it will have to do for now while we are both studying. The photo below was taken at the temple just after Ellen and Regan were married.

I told work yesterday that I was off on a trip and they didn't seem to excited about it. Maybe that is because they trained me up and now have to let me go. I'm still hoping they don't cut me free a week early.

I used to row. I used to be very good at it as well. So I haven't been in a boat for a while and have been thinking about it for a while. So instead of getting into the boat, I am getting into the coaching seat. I'm going overseas so I'm doing limited things before I go. But once I'm back I'll be able to help out and go to about 3 sessions a week. Prince Alfred College is the school and back when I rowed they were the school to beat. I think this will be a great opportunity to get back into a sport that I loved and was good at. Might even have some professional contacts in there as well when I'm done with my physiotherapy degree. Who knows, within the year or two I might get into a boat and see where it takes me.

Everybody loves a bogan....

Sometimes you have to go all out. Apart from the tatts being fake... I was almost in that place. I was going for a more pure blond, but you don't always get what you want. Instead I got a filthy bronze colour that ended up being everything I wanted and more. The sides of my hair had to go as well, but I still wanted to keep the party on top and at the back. The party was fun, then I woke up the next morning... After sleeping some of the night on a couch that wasn't my size I realised that I had to be at church in about an hour with this thing on my head. A quick shave and a brown dye later I was all good to go. Sad thing being that you do act like you dress. The night before down at the shops, I felt like I was supposed to hang out the front checking out girls spitting on the ground and somehow lose a tooth or two. I guess I'm lucky I have nice parents...

I have enjoyed hearing about her experiences and can't wait to hear them face to face as well. Luckily for me I have holidays in September and will get that chance before I have to get back into study and finish off the year.

1. I wanna die before I get really really old.
2. Stressing about exams is stressful and mentally unhealthy.
3. There is always two sides to every story.
4. Just because a person has credentials, doesn't make them a decent person.
5. It is important to catch up with old friends.
6. Always log out of facebook when friends are around(sadly reactivated it).
7. Letting go is different from giving up.
8. People actually notice when you are not around.
9. I need to marry someone who loves music, photography, church and me.
10. You don't always have to follow the norm.

Life is busy

Life is pretty busy at the moment. I have just started clinical placement for my physiotherapy degree at a community physiotherapy clinic. It has been great for me to be there, observe and participate in treatment sessions as well as groups for fall prevention and balancing. Later on in the week I will be doing a hydrotherapy session, which should be very educational. I'm on placement for 3 weeks full time during the normal university holidays. I'll get my holidays eventually in September and can't wait til I can just relax and not worry.

Last month or so has been awfully stressful with exams. All up I had 5 exams, 3 of them more practical and 2 of them were the written type. I still have to do one extra written exam as I was ill leading up to and on the actual day of the exam. It was so so incredibly stressful. So much to know and so many things they could ask and so many ways to ask it. I'll be taking that exam in August after placement is finished while 2nd semester has started. Can't wait til I never have to do another exam.

In case any of you are interested i restrained my right leg within 3 weeks of the original injury. So I'm guessing I won't be playing football until around finals time. I just really need to get some strength and flexibility back into my right leg. Fingers crossed!

I'm the only child

Ellen has left and moved to Sydney. I am officially the last child to be living at home. Almost 25 and not ashamed to admit it either. I have it pretty good. The hole is still in the wall, I'll get around to doing something with that when I have time to think about that. It's pretty much exam time. I had a prac test today and I think I did pretty well in it. I also found out that Whyalla Hospital isn't doing July placement this year. So I was all ready for placement to start in the days after my last exam and now I don't know when I am doing it and don't know where I am doing. It is a pitty as I was really looking forward to working out in a rural hospital and had heard that it was an exellent placement to go on. Ahhh well. I guess I'll just do whatever happens.

I'm still playing around with my camera when I get the time. A month or so ago I was out and about with a friend in a park taking pictures etc as you do. Bit random but liked the end result of these two.

It has pretty much been 3 years since I came home from my mission and really, really want to head back to Korea. I was thinking about it the other day. I could go back and just eat all the yummy Korean foods, but it would be nice to visit people as well. World travel is so cheap at the moment. If only I had a propper job... Tax return is coming.

For those that have followed this Blog for a while would know all the trouble I had with my right hamstring... Well... guess what?! My right quadricep 'went bad' on Saturday and I will not be playing for a few weeks at least. Can anyone tell me where I could buy a new right leg? The same frustration I felt last year crept back. Maybe I should just go back to rowing. I emailed a lady last week regarding taking rowing back up and she asked if I wanted to go to the National University games in September to compete in the 4. I politely declined in the reply.

Before I head off.... Some of you might like this... and some of you might get creeped out. I laughed... anyways.

Another sleepwalking adventure

Last night I did my sleepwalk thing. I'm sure I've mentioned it before that I do some pretty cool/crazy things in my sleep. On my mission I picked up a companion and carried him into another room and could only give him an excuse of "I had to do it, it was a drill". I also ripped my sheets off of my bed and swung them around my head as I shouted "C'mon". I've had times where I wake up and I'm looking over the balcony. Last night was up there as well.

I wake up with a sore hand that has just been through the wall. That is correct people! I punched a hole in the wall last night while I was sleeping. I must have hit the wall pretty hard as my left hand was sore and there wasn't just a dent in the wall but an actual hole. After re orientating myself and brushing the crumbs of plaster off of my pillow I was asleep within the minute, only to awake in the morning to realise that it wasn't a dream and that there was still a hole in my wall. I can't wait til I am married and my wife can tell me wonderful stories of what happens when I'm sleeping. Now that will be entertaining.

Yesterday I was able to play my 3rd game for the season. I have already missed 3 games in 6 rounds due to 2 weddings and a clinical trial in hospital. Yesterday was another wedding but I skipped the wedding part and attended the reception which was nice. It was my first game in the reserves and I was able to spend most of the time up forward. At Thursday training I came off the track early with hammy problems and iced and compressed my dodgy hammy up until a few hours before the game. I kicked 3 goals in the first half and none in the second. It was good to get a little bit more time on the park and good to get a few more miles on my legs. I am enjoying my time at the new footy club, just need to get back to the way I was playing footy in early 2003 (that will come with time).

I'm in hospital. The money hospital.

So... I'm sitting here in the east wing of the Royal Adelaide Hospital after a rather long day of sitting in bed getting my blood taken and having a lot of ECGs. Lunch and dinner were tasty but were lacking in quantity. I've watched a movie on my laptop and in a minute I will get up (withe everything strapped to my chest (portable telemetry) and a heat pack tied to my arm and will go and watch some tv before they take my blood again at 10pm and 2am.

For those of you that don't know I'm doing a paid clinical trial. 9 nights = $2,850 tax free. It is for healthy males (that's me) and it is to help people with neuropathic pain (not me) It is a low dosage and has been tried on humans once before. It's pretty chilled though. Little bit stressful this morning when I was almost excluded for not getting my QRS complex wouldn't go low enough (even though it was in healthy range). I succeeded and now I'm in and loving it. I'll try to blog about it as much as possible. So if you have any questions I'll try and answer them in my next few blogs.

Sunday Afternoon Session

For those that don't know, I served a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Seoul West, South Korea Mission. It was a wonderful time of growth in my life and I have many fond memories of the people and the land of South Korea. I am grateful for the leaders that I had over there that were able to lead us missionaries in righteousness in The Lord's work.

In the Saturday afternoon session of General Conference I was able to watch and sustain my mission president, President Ringwood and my stake president when I was in Anyang stake, President Choi as the were both called to the first quorum of the seventy.

I remember zone and mission conferences when President Ringwood would teach us the truths of the gospel with power. I gained so much and could feel his love for the gospel in the way that he treated his family, us as missionaries and the people of Korea that he was called to serve.

I was able to serve in Geumcheon 1 ward (my favourite) for seven months where President Choi lived. After just transfering there from my greenie area Elder Aragon and myself headed to President Choi and Siter Koo's house for a dinner appointment. After dinner we taught a introductory lesson as there wasn't much time left. I remember being very very nervous as I was still fairly new and felt out of my depth teaching a stake president. But as Elder Aragon and I taught the that nervousness felt away and his house was filled with love. President Choi gave us positive feedback and some helpful hints for two relatively new missionaries. He showed a great sense of humor yet he was serious about the gospel and he also taught with authority.

I've been blessed with great examples through my life. I have wonderful parents and have had wonderful leaders that have set righteous examples here and abroad. I truly am blessed and hope I live up to the potential I have and always follow the great example I have been shown and In return be the example to those who are watching me.

Public Holiday Picnic

Sunday night the YSA crew headed to the King's household for a cottage evening. It was interactive and was 13 different groups giving little talks. Afterwards bunch of us stayed the night. I was up til 7ish before I headed to the bedroom for some sleep. It was the progression game in the bedroom. Every few hours you'd wake up to see if there was a better place to sleep. By around 11am I had progressed to an actual mattress then slept for another hour or so. Had some tasty pancakes for breakfast/lunch and then we all sat around deciding what we were gonna do with our day.

Off to the park for a picnic. Everyone got their subway or nandos and beverages and sat on the hill in the park overlooking the playground. I took that opportunity to get my camera out and take a few snaps. This one below is one of my favourites. Jill was just sitting there looking up and I took the snap. I've played around with it also. Let me know what you think. I'd also like to know what everyone out there uses for after shot editing/finishing.

After the picnic everyone came back to ours and we sat around watching movies then played scatagories. That is always a lot of fun and we get to see every one's competitive side. People always love to come out with the double or triple pointers... People love to throw a lot of descriptive words in there and try and scam the points. Good times were had.

Back to reality. But before I came back down, there was Soundwave. Got there energised just after 12ish with Ellen and Courtney. Got inside just to hear the last little bit of Less Than Jake and then kinda walked around seeing the venue and sussing it out. Went over to the main stage where Goldinger was playing. I have to say... It was pretty amazing. Got myself to the front and even was able to hold John Feldmann's leg as he stood on top of the crowd (my arm) and sang. They had a wall of death that I participated in and once again I felt like I was 17. They played a really good set and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Only disappointing thing was that I got my hands on both drumsticks and didn't end up with them.

Next was Anberlin. They played a pretty awesome set as well. Once again we were at the front or near to it and had fun singing along and jumping around. I had someone sit on my shoulders for two if the songs. Lucky she wasn't fat or else I would have been pushed over big time. I guess it was her lucky day. Standing next to the tallest guy there.

I was pretty hungry so I got in line to have a yiros that took about 20 minutes to buy. Whilst eating and walking we walked back to the tent stage and caught the last bit of hellogoodbye's set. They were pretty chilled and was probably the calmest part of the day. It was nice just sitting back and having a few sips of refreshing beverages.

I walked over to the heavy metal stage and caught a little bit of Evergreen Terrace. There was a great big empty circle in the middle of the crowd where people were swinging their arms and legs and pretty much violently dancing/punching and hitting other people in the circle to the heavy music. I like some of the heavy stuff... But I dunno if I was a fan o the crazy people hitting each other... There was a bit of blood going around.

Bloodhound gang was interesting and that is all I have to say. Catchy lyrics but dirty men. We then went over to New Found Glory. Got to the front once again and had a pretty sweet view. It was amazing. We were singing so hard and getting into it that Jordan Pundik let us finish the sentences in the song. Ellen and Courtney sung until they didn't know the words then pushed the mic away and then a few sentences later I was able to finish of some other sentences as I was a few to the right of the girls. I got to sing! I'm pretty much famous. Well I can say I have sung with NFG. They threw the drumsticks at us at the end and it hit my hand and went back over the front of the barrier. So pretty much dropped three drumsticks in 1 day. Ellen and Courtney both got pics.

Straight after we ran to the main stage to get good positioning for Nine Inch Nails. Once they got on stage and started we were able to make it down toward the front again. The lighting and stage presence was great but the set list was pretty average I thought. They didn't play a few classic that I thought they would have from The Fragile and Downward Spiral. It went for 2 hours as well... by the last 15 minutes I was ready to get out as I was so so tired but hung in there. Clearly the day was awesome.

With the festival over I went home with the sweat of many other ingrained in my clothes. Mum and Dad were not impressed with the smell and didn't want me anywhere near them. It was pretty rank. Then realised that my months of holidays were over. I had to prepare a lesson for the morning and had no voice. I taught the 13-15 year olds with half a voice and just made it to the end of the lesson. Then school on Monday. So I'm back into the study mode. Apart from right now. I'm tired.

Football is back

It is that time of year again... The time of year where I see how long my hamstring can last before it tears again. Last night went out to training at Hectorville Football Club and had a run and a kick etc. It was good to get back out there and start getting fit again. Woke up this morning and my hammy is tight as. So I've done some of my hammy exercises and stretched it out and hopefully it lasts the season. So I figure I need to weigh a little more to be able to mix it with some of the big boys. I weigh about 90kgs (200lbs) but I really want to weigh about 100kgs (220lbs) and bulk up my upper body. I am 6, 7" tall so this isn't a big thing... I'm thinking it might take a few months to gain that much weight. To make it easier on my body this morning for breakfast I ate a mixture of egg and tuna fried and then had a whey protein milkshake. I actually never noticed that milk had that much protein in it. All together in that 1 meal it contained 80grams (3 ounces) of protein. Did weights straight after as well. I'll keep you all posted on the progress.

I had a laugh and got Mum to take a few shots of me for the sake of my children and then went to get a haircut. I like it. Maybe I'll get my haircut more often this year. Maybe that will help.

So I'm back. It has been a pretty busy month or so. Got back from convention and I have been working quite a bit to make sure I have money to spend throughout this year... or to spend on my new car. Yes... I bought a car. it is new to me and about 12 years old to the world. Bought a VS Commodore Calais. It was pretty good back in the day. But it's perfect for me. Lowered, sports exhaust, CD, mags, tinted windows and cruise control. I'm loving driving it round everywhere. I just need to get it converted to LPG to cheapen the travelling costs. I'll put a photo up when I take one. I named it "Jessica". It's bluey green. I love it.

Australia day I went down to Mannum to have some fun on the river and camp over night. The McKims have a pretty rad boat so we were out there for hours on the biscuit and knee boarding. Pretty much still have a sore shoulder from the biscuit, but it was worth it. After dinner we set up camp over the other side of the river. 2 tents were enough. We drove a few KMs down the road so we didn't disturb the neighbours and then had a dance party. After the dance party we had a little fire by the banks of the water with all the neccisary controls so no fire could spread. We found things to burn. Glenn found some wood. I found some clothes... and boxes from the bins. It was a nice little fire until I had to put it out... didn't take long ;)

Only 3 or so more weeks and I'll be back into study. I have really enjoyed the massive break and think that this year is going to be amazing. I has had such a great start and can really only get better. Pretty much need a haircut... haven't cut it in around 6-7 months I think. But starting to enjoy the feeling especially when i have a cap on. We'll see how long it lasts.

I don't have the time at the moment go go through the last few weeks and talk about the good times, but I'd like you to know that I am still alive and have perfected the art of living whilst only getting an average of 3 hours sleep. I think I need to get some structure back. I don't know how much longer I can party like this. It was all good though. I'm alive and well.

I woke up at 12:30pm today and I couldn't get back to sleep; not because I wasn't tired, just because I knew that my results were sitting there online. I don't know If I had told anyone but I was really really worried about half of one subject. It was anatomy and if I failed that subject it pretty much would have meant that I would need to find a job for a year as it is only offered in SP5 or the 2nd semester of each year and that subject was a prerequisite for pretty much everything I need in my course. I thought I passed the exam and that's really all I needed as I had about a credit average for it already but wasn't sure how kind the markers would be. Turns out they were happy and I passed. Which makes me really very happy. Makes my parents happy as well. I'm sure my future wife will be happy in a few years knowing that I didn't lengthen my course years ago. So P's get degrees... But yeah I got Distinctions for the rest of my subjects which is a good thing. Happy about that as well. But nothing compares to beating that killer of a subject! Now I don't have to worry about studying for a supplementary exam and I can party hard til late feb.

In other news... I'm bidding for an old Nikkor E series 50mm F 1.8 lens from the 70's. It will connect to my camera but everything is gonna need to be done manually. I don't know how shutter speed and aperture works with the old lens but I think it'll be fun to play around with it. At the moment I've bid $5.. we'll see how it goes. It'll be good to see how I like 50mm and good to see how much I LOVE fast lenses! The dream is the Nikkor 50mm F 1.4 AF-S which has built in auto-focus which is handy. Without the auto-focus it's a little cheaper, but it's nice to have it. The camera already has the dot that lights up when in focus... just gotta get used to doing that fast. I dunno.. Should be fun.

End of an era

This afternoon I ended my short career (6 or so months) as an after school carer at St Andrew's School. I have no qualifications except that I have no criminal record and I can work well with kids sometimes. I actually really enjoyed working there sometimes. Getting paid to chill with the kids and show them how cool I am... sometimes they noted that I wasn't actually that cool. Today Yaya commented that my shoes looked like the shoes that people should wear to bed. I think I liked hanging out with the 5-7 year olds the best. Any older then that and they knew that I wasn't really all that important. The 5-7 would actually consider me a teacher... they called me a teacher anyway even if I knew that I wasn't the main one. Which brings me to the point of all the careers that I often joke about having... These are jobs that I have held and possible career titles that make me sound like I'm experienced... Even though these jobs really have no prequals except for physio.

Not bad for 24 years old. I wonder what I'll be doing next year as I study. I really just wanna stack shelves. Not a hard job, but I might have to not shave for a while so they give me the job. I swear at the local woolworths it looks like they have hired clowns to stack the shelves.. I guess it's their full time job though. Just a means to an end for me.

In other news we as a bunch of YSA went and sung at a home for mentally impaired people and sung hymns. I was a pretty good turn out and then 8 or so that came and listened seemed as though they loved it. They joined in and got into it. Some of their faces I hadn't seen in years. One guy in there named "Burnie" had been there for years and is actually pretty funny. Another guy was sitting there drinking beer from a can with a straw it was classic.

Later on... at around 2 am a bunch of us were up at some of the the lookouts and we took some pretty good photos and some pretty interesting ones as well... I hadn't crowd surfed in a while, but when the camera is pointing it's always time to show off. I'll have to upload some of them in the morning. It is 3:40am and pretty sure I should go to bed. Who knows what kinda fun will happen tomorrow. All that I really have planned for tomorrow is that I need to fill out my centrelink information so they pay me before Christmas :) I love Australia. We have such a loving government. Ok. Enough said.

So I was looking through my myspace profile which I haven't done in a while I came across one of the videos that I had upload from my mission. I have all the photos and videos on cds in my room. I should probably put them all on to a DVD and make a few copies so they never get lost. I have photos albums from my mish but really need to develop the photos from the last area and put them in as well. Anyhow I thought this vid was pretty interesting. I had been out on my mission for 20 months and was about to have my last transfer.

My schooling for 2008 is done. Currently have a massive headache and don't have much that I wanna say tonight. Just feels good that I can stop thinking about cardiovascular system for a feotus... like that's going to help me in future years... Anyhow it's over and I can sleep in until 11am tomorrow. Then I can plan the Summer. Think I'll work. I'll need some cash for next year. Probably a lot. I'm glad that I got a visitor from West Africa coming to look at my blog. I love the map. Still haven't cracked South America but I have all Summer to crack that niche.. ha.

T minus 4 days until freedom

This will be the third time in a row that I am blogging from Playford level 3 room 38 (University computer lab). Whenever I need a break I guess I feel like writing. I am once again the only white person studying in here. I can understand the Koreans but my hindi isn't all that good...

So last week when I did my surface anatomy viva I thought I could have done better and I really could have. I got the results back and it came in as a credit. Happy with that as it could have been much worse. There is a saying that is passed around "P's get degrees and anything else is a waste of my time". But a credit is good enough. Annoying thing is that I got a credit for another one of the practicals and it was the only practical I got under a D for. I really need all the backing up I can get as the work throughout the semester isn't all that tough. The end of semester exam is a killer! That is what I have been studying for the past 8 hours straight. The exam also starts at 6:30pm! Both parts of the 2.5 hour exam must be passed to pass the whole subject. If the subject is not passed there is no progression. It's a prerequisite for subjects next year. So it's kind of a big thing. There is so much to know and so many different things they could possibly put in the exam. Some of them having nothing to do with physiotherapy in the slightest. But I must conform and learn all of it or else they might catch me out and then I'd have to find a fulltime job next year waiting for the subject to be available to take. So yeah after Monday night I will be free to organise myself and go from there.

So I paid for the YSA convention. It cost $355 bucks. Pretty good for 5 nights and all meals plus activities and a ball at the hilton. Should be fun. Last year was pretty crazy. Didn't get much sleep and had a lot of stories to tell afterwards. I swear most of the mornings I would walk into the dorm to go to bed and Dane would be up studying the scriptures and we'd both have a laugh then I'd sleep til midday. We have a pretty sweet room this year - it even has a fridge! Steve, Sam, Dane, Damien and me will be roomates for the time over convention... A pretty comical mix if you ask me. I'm gonna love using my camera over convention as well. So many good photo opportunites... now I just need to get a lens that has a low f point then I'll be set to take them everywhere. Maybe I'll do another clinical trial at the hospital and it'll pay for it.. we'll see :) At the moment you need Hep C to be involved... that counts me out.

I have a dilema. The other night a group of us went round to Courtney's place to play 'Guitar Hero World Tour'. It's amazing! It has the guitar like normal but it introduces the drums, which I have come to love. Vocals is included but really didn't do much for me. Whilst playing the drums you feel like you are actually are awesome at drums, but others looking see you tapping the pads at quite a slow rate. So this costs around $330 for the whole game package on PS3. For that price you can go out and buy a whole Wii system. So yeah, some dilema hey :) I guess I'll have more time to think about it when the exam is done.

Once again it's passed midnight and I'm in at uni trying to get my last assignment done. But I have hit the wall and really nothing is making sense. This is when my assignments go downhill. I got an assignment back earlier this semester that I did very late at night and I was quite happy with the Distinction grade that I got for it. I actually went through it and had a read of it and laughed my head off. Although the content was sound, my writing style at 4am in the morning was nothing more than a joke. At one point I didn't even complete my sentence and the marker made sure that I knew about that (it was pointed out in red). Anyhow... It all went down well. I imagine this one will go down as well if not better... let's hope that's a good thing ;)

I have another 10 days or so until I am on my Summer holidays! I can't wait. I just need to get this assignment done and then take an exam on the 24th and then the games begin. I had a prac test worth around 10% yesterday and wasn't all that happy with it. Got a credit but really could have got a lot more if I wasn't so nervous. mistakes were made... I went to look for a joint in the foot when it was in the hand. I blame it on the abbreviation, I have to admit it was pretty funny we all had a laugh. I felt confident that I hadn't screwed it up big time after the examiner gave me a wink afterwards. She understood.

Anyhow, I better get back to the assignment but I crack up every time I see this add. She gets so cut and she really does look freakishly tall. Not that I can say much, If she wasn't really standing on a box on the other side she'd probably be my height. Tall Jan is malicious

I'm back in the EQP

Today was a little different then the average Sunday. I really should get out of bed before 12 and luckily today I did. I have been on holidays/uni lifestyle for the past little while and have got a bad habit of getting bed round 3amish.. What makes today special is that Steve stayed over last night and obviously he likes to get up before midday. So around 10 I hear him on the guitar strumming a song about the racist twins girls that we had watched a documentary on the night before. But I really did feel good getting out of bed at 10. I wasn't actually tired at all. I figure I think I'll be tired so I just keep sleeping. James got the the priesthood today so I decided that I would wear my suit even though it was pretty hot. I shaved but I also shaved last night, so that didn't go down all that well with my skin, but it's all good.

So sacrament meeting has finished and we were all waiting outside to sing to sister Rice when she came outside and then before that happens i get pulled back inside by bro McCappin. Back when I was in the elders quorum presidency he was my steward. So as soon as I got pulled into the room I figured it was something stake. I really hadn't thought that I'd get called back into it, like it hadn't even crossed my mind. So Dallin is President and I'm one of the councilors. So either I have something great I can bring to the presidency or.. I didn't learn my lesson last time and really need to learn it this time. I'm guessing it's the latter. But in all honesty, I am grateful that I am able to say "yes" to the callings that are given to me. If it is meant to be it is meant to be. It's funny that it was run before the high council before I even knew about it, and all it needed was for me to accept.

Late the other night I was looking on ebay.com.au for a guitar tuner. I have had my guitar for a whle but never have really known how to tune it well. So I figure if I ever want to start playing the guitar again it has to be readily tunable. So I bought the Korg CA30 for AUD$22, which is a good buy. I looked them up on a few sites and they were around the $60 mark. I would have got one of the cheaper bands but they were also around the $20 mark so I found a good deal on ebay. I love it when I find the good deals. I always do.

I was looking at a certain seller and they had these headphones for professionals. They were $50 but looking everywhere else on the net they were worth about $250. But they were the type that pretty much reduce all noise outside the headphones and I'm not a professional at anything yet, and won't be until I'm done with Uni. But it got me looking at other headphones as I have an ipod and i've gone through quite a few sets of earphones. So I found ones that I like and from reviews the bass is good and generally without spending heaps of money they are good quality. Now all I have to do it pick the colour scheme. Let me know what you think.

Last weekend of September

So I have been on holidays for the past week or so and I've been loving it. Get to sleep in til around 12ish most days which is something I enjoy. Feel a little more lazy then usual in the holidays but I guess that is what they are for... or are they?

Thursday went and played golf with Dallin, Adam, Boyd and Ben down near West Beach. We hired buggies that we could drive around in so we didn't have to use our energy walking. I loved it. We would zip around everywhere looking for the balls that we hit into the trees. I hit a few nice shots before we started playing at the driving range, but once it began I seemed to hook pretty much all of my shots. Definitely not my finest hour at playing golf. Although my back 9 was a lot better than my first 9. I think my back 9 was +20 or something like that.. not good!

Friday night I went up to Adam and Laura's place. The group I grew up with was pretty much there. We had a bbq and chatted. It's cool cos group is growing bigger. Pretty much everyone up there was either married, engaged or steadily dating. I was an exception to that rule but I'm happy with where I am standing.

Today I went to Sam and Rebecca Orth's reception. They looked really happy. I'm sure I'll look like they do... well not how they look, but I'm sure it'll be a pretty rad day. It was good fun though. Chatted with people and checked the grand final scores. That was pretty rad. I'm so glad that Hawthorn beat Geelong. I was there last year when Port Adelaide got whipped and embarrassed. So deep down I was kinda happy when the siren went and the Geelong boys were shedding a few tears. It's only healthy :)

I'm glad we have time.. Time heals, time congeals around us. Sometimes when you have given your all to try and keep a friendship above water and eventually you lose hope as they give you nothing. Then bang... time heals people. I don't know why I am so surprised. I guess people can't hold onto hate or baggage for that long. It might take a few years... but eventually it has to go.

I'm at Kelly and David's place right now. Stitch the dog is just sitting on the rug looking at me every few minutes or so. It's actually kinda nice having a place to yourself. Quite peaceful, gives you time to think. anyway.

So today was the married vs YSA football match. We lost... It's ok. Cos I know one day I'll be on the team that wins. Just give me some time. I think we lost by about 5 goals. I bought a Nikon D60!

I did it! I went out there and got what I've wanted for a long time. I bought the Nikon D60 with the 18mm-55mm VR and 55mm-200mm VR lenses. I played with the camera for hours last night after i had to wait to charge the battery. Then this morning I went outside and tried taking a few pictures in the light from the sun. I pretty much still don't know much about how and what I should be doing, but I plan to take an 8 week course starting next month. All I've heard is keep the ISO low... anyway here is a photo I took this morning. It's Yksi! He actually sat there looking at me for a minute or two. This Jpeg was originally 3meg and i brought it down to 37k. Anyways. I put a link on the side of this blog to a place where I wanna put the pictures I take that I like. Anyways... I'm excited. If any of you guys have any tips or pointers I would love to hear them.

Well.. Hold that thought... But I am actually excited. If you look left on the screen you will see my world map. If you click on it it shows you how many people have visited this blog and it also shows you were the visitors are from. I looked at it today and I have had visitors from India, Phillipines and I think it is Egypt... I don't know the top of Africa and the bottom of the middle east very well. The reasons for that is probably cos my last post wasn't that much about me. It was about a camera and a cool website and people were looking for those items and stumbled accross my site. So.. they might not have actually read anything on the page. I wonder If I can get visitors from different parts of the world if I add sentences in that people use in google search and they might stumble accross my page.

I made a chart

When I was in Youngdeungpo (greenie area) with Elder Baker (2nd comp) we made these charts. On the charts were things or habits that we wanted to eliminate from our lives as missionaries. They weren't evil things of course.. just things that might occupy our minds and to a degree take our full attention away from the work we were doing. I think Baconsworth was always better at recording and keeping track of how things were going and I'm sure my recording only lasted for a few days.

Well about a week ago I made one of these charts up again. Except instead of a eliminate chart it is more like a reactivate chart. On the mission it was the little things that we needed to eliminate. Whereas now... It's certain things that need be reactivated... So yeah I made the chart... and I haven't filled it in yet. So Monday is the start of the new chart... Same things on it just get to start from the beginning of the month. We've all heard President Monson say "where performance is measured, performance improves. Where performance is measured and reported, the rate of improvement accelerates". That's what I'm 'trying' to do.

I'm taking a subject at Uni called 'exploring the digital age'. So the other week I learnt about RSS feeds. I'm loving it! Instead of having to check someone web page or blog every few days to see whether anything has changed you can click on the RSS feed and it will tell you if the page has been updated. If it has you can go and view the page and if it hasn't you don't even have to bother.

So that was exciting... Well for me anyway it'll make life that little bit easier. I was also shown a wonderful wonderful website. It's engadget! It updates about 20 times a day and has really cool technological stuff. Talks about HDTVs, DSLRs, mobile phones, computers and much more. It's great! I visit it about 10x a day and I'm able to read up on the rumors going around about companies and their new products.

So I've been looking around for a DSLR. I'm not made of money... But I also want something that I can play around with as well. I've done a bit of research and I really think that the Nikon D60 is the one that I want. The kit that I want it to come with is the 18mm-55mm and 55mm-200mm VR lenses. I've looked around and the walk in off the street price seems to be around the AUD$1,000 mark. You can get it about $300 cheaper if you just accept it with the standard 18mm-55m lens.

Well... I'm on holidays for now. I have a deferred exam that I'll take in August. So I have a bit of time to write here. Exciting times for the next few weeks! I hope.

So today's theme is the Friday night institute dinner organised by Elder and Sister Jones who head back to the States soonish. It was Ladies' choice and I was asked to go with Sarah. It was fun. So... I was asked and really didn't know what to wear. I knew I had a black suit, a black shirt and a white tie. I didn't have a 1920's gangsta hat though and I really wasn't all the keen in going out and buying one when I'd never wear it again. I was scared to do the slick back hair as it wouldn't be too kind on my less than flowing hair. With the help of Mum we found some hair stuff that was kinda glossy and would keep the hair where I wanted it to be... slicked forwards.. Anyways.. You'll see the pictures eventually.

The meal was good. We had a whole lot of cheeses that I'd never tasted before. I liked them. There was a salad that pretty much had everything in it. Never tasted anything like it.. It was ok... The main meal was real good we ate lamb that was so good and the end meal was cheese cake stuff... the called it something else but it tasted like cheese cake.

While we ate we talked and asked questions that were written down on this piece of paper. We already knew a lot about each other but now we both know what is in our top draws... Anyhow. I'll put photos up when I get my hand on that memory card again. It was a fun night tho. Good times were had. Yes good times.

Queens Birthday = Good Times

The Queen was born on 21 April 1926 at 2.40 AM to the Duke (later King George VI) and the Duchess of York at 17 Bruton Street, London. Last weekend I got to celebrate it! The celebrations began Friday night where we had a YSA dance at Marion. The theme was 'mad hatters' and the place looked nice. Hayley and her crew did a great job in decorations. Music has had better days though... I wore a Mexican sombrero and most of the people there wore a hat of some sort. The dance ended round 12ish and Micky Max was having people round to his just to chill. We sat round watching funny videos and chatting til around 4am and then we knew it was time to go... I took Brodie and Sunny home to Marion and just before we got to Brodie's house I noticed a bird on the road just as I drove over it. Brodie seemed concerned and so I reversed and she got out to look at what it was. It was an owl... But it wasn't 'hooting'. Anyhow Brodes took it inside and called it 'Winda' and started singing some aboriginal song about owls. It was pretty funny. The owl lived and hopefully still lives as she released it back into the wild.. of Marion. I got to bed at around 5am and then got some well deserved sleep.

Saturday was way fun. If I was American I could get away with saying 'super fun'. I arose around 12ish and made my way over to Micky Max's again to have a BBQ and watch the Crows. The crows seemed to do well enough... easy team though. Big thanks to Micky for the good food and good times. That night six of us went to the drive ins to see Prince Caspian. Sarah, Sam, Brodie, Mel, Simon and myself packed in Sarah's 4wd and headed down to the cross. I enjoyed the movie when I could feel my legs. It wasn't the most comfortable but the drive ins is always an experience. I love eating hot jam donuts and drinking chocky milk. For some reason they didn't have both of them. So I ate hot chips. The movie was great. I enjoyed the first Narnia movie and liked this one as well. The only thing about this movie was that when it was a dark scene we couldn't really see anything just cos of the way the screen at the drive ins works. I'm sure I'll understand more when I watch it again on DVD. After the movie we went to the supermarket and got snacks for our little adventure through the hills. We didn't know where we were going but Sammy boy took us up to a lookout. It was way cool. We could see all of little Adelaide. But.. It was so so so cold. We kinda looked at it for a minute then all sat on the bench. Or more like we all heaped on each other on the bench. Good times were had. We went home.

Sunday night the YSA of Adelaide went round to Sarah's house and we had a cottage evening on missionary work. Phil, Simon, Sarah and myself gave 10 minute presentations on our missions. It was great to be able to remember some of the things that mean so much to me. It was a great night and then around 12ish people left Sarah's place and we headed over to Micky Max's place again! Just general chillaxin happened. We left relatively early at 2:30ish.

Monday (Queens Birthday) I was sleeping and then I got a phone call. Sarah and Mel then came round and picked me up to go to my first Queens Birthday football game. We sat and watched and I played my first game of bopit. My high score was around 10ish... not bad for 5 mins of playing... or maybe it is bad. After the footy game we went down to Glenelg and ate Nandos chicken. It was good. Later we went into the city and visited Sarah's baby neice who is still in hospital. Such a tiny tiny baby, but very very cute. We went back to Mel's and played Buzz on PS2. I won the music quiz :) I pretty much would have won the general questions as well. We got back in the car and headed back to mine. We found Simo, Stevo and Ellen sitting at home watching Malcolm in the Middle. I love that show. It's so so classic, I guess it's what every family is like but they just take it to the extreme. We watched about 5 episodes of that before we went to the video store and watched The Bourne Ultimatum. Classic movie. I'm a big fan of all three of the movies. Everyone went home around 12:30 and then the weekend was over...

It was good fun getting out and about. I'm sure this weekend will be fun as well. Once I get my last assignment done :) Anyhow. That's how it all went down. Well according to me anyway.

NBA Finals

Well... I haven't really watched basketball in a while. I loved the NBA back in 93-94 and love the Charlotte Hornets. Larry Johnon was my man and good times were had. Since then I kinda haven't watched much basketball but have played a bit over the years. Whilst in Korea I got myself a jersey made. I've always kinda liked Portland and Boston for some reason. I got the guy to make me a Boston jersey. I think it cost me about 25,000 won ($25) and it was all hand made at the guys store in Osan. So since the Boston Celtics are in the NBA finals I thought it would be appropriate to get my uniform out and show people my colours... haha. I got it made in 05. Anyhow. I went for a run this morning with Sarah. I'm trying to get some kms into my legs before I start playing again in a few weeks. My fitness it pretty bad at the moment. My leg felt pretty good in the jog. I'll probably test it out real good next week. We ran up at Morialta falls... well ran some of the time. We ran fast for the last 200 or so metres. I better get off this and do some more Neuro study. Enjoi!

The Dream Team

I'm back. I went to Melbourne... Good times were had. just over a week ago Sarah, Ellen, Mike and myself set off on an adventure to Melbourne. The purpose of the trip was to see the Dream Team play Victoria in a game of AFL. So Friday morning just after 7:30am we decided to head off and make our way to Melbourne. We had the luxury of a larger car (good leg room) and cruise control helped as well. Sarah hooked us up with that one. The trip went really quick and before we knew it we were in the middle of Melbourne stuck in their peak hour traffic. I was able to experience peak hour and am now grateful for what we have in Adelaide. We got to Natasha's neighbours house stopped the car and knock at the door... Nobody answered... Then a bunch of people came round from the back gate smoking and drinking... It was then we realised that we were at the wrong house. Got to the real house and Natasha and her mother had prepared a wonderful meal for us. We really were spoilt the whole weekend.

Friday night we got ready and went to the YSA dance in Deer Park. Us boys put our blue jeans on ready for the dance... We also brought along a change of pants as we thought there could be a chance that we might not make it in the building with a nice smart pair of jeans... So we made sure we had a pair of 'normal' pants in the boot. Sure enough we get to the dance and there are tonnes of people standing out the front of the doors. They'd been rejected from entering due to the choice of pants. track pants = admittance, jeans = ejected. We changed in the car. Got inside and it was very pink. They'd gone all out with the decorations. We had a lot of fun even though it was kinda... average. Ellen got in with a pink bed sheet wrapped around her(smart kid). Pretty much went home straight afterwards and slept... well the boys did anyways.

Saturday was the big day! Woke up and was still way way tired. Got tricked into playing a game of pool so early in the morning and as a result lost. I hear the game was pretty close though. Once again we were treated to a wonderful meal. We had pancakes with like homemade fruit stuff on it. It was the best! I loved it! Can't describe that well but yeah good times were had. We went into the city during the daytime and ate krispy kremes and had dinner at some place that sounded like a nightclub... It wasn't... They didn't ask me for I.D. maybe cos I told them "I'm 17 and going bald". We were walking round the shopping centres for a while and we came across a games workshop... Not the most sociable shop owners... we stood in there for ages and nobody approached us. They were too busy talking about the rules.. We met up with more people and then headed to the MCG.

We got to the MCG pretty early to see the pre-match shenanigans. The games with a tribute match because Australian Rules has been played for 150 years now. So they got people to hold glow sticks and stand in areas so they could take a picture from above and see 150 written.

It was so so classic. They needed about 90 seconds to take the picture and during the 90 seconds the people started to throw their glow sticks around. As you can see many of the sticks went outside of the 150. The guy on the mic kept on telling them all to not throw them around but it appeared as though the more he said it the more it happened. Shortly after that tonnes of fireworks went off and didn't startle me one bit... or maybe they did... The stadium was filled with smoke for the next 40 minutes.

It may appear in the photo that nobody is there... that was early on. The final attendence was around 70,000. The vics won the match which was very fast and very skillful but lacked aggressivness from defenders. It was good fun tho. The whole trip was fun and will be done again soon.

Ok... well it's 2am again... I'm about 3 weeks away from getting back out and playing. I've started doing straight lines again and can run at 50% so I'm pretty happy about that. I'l only miss half the season but I'll be good to go when I finally get out there.

I have uni in the morning. I'm back and I have a better map! Enjoi.

Well... I just got home from football training and I'm sitting here at the computer with ice on my leg... I'm gonna go see the physio again tomorrow. It feels like a totally different area then my physio was working on. It's not as bad as it was... I'm just gonna keep on iceing and keep it compressed and be patient. I shouldn't rush it. By the way I went to the physio and he said I couldn't play this week anyway... So i'm guessing it wont be the next either... not the best... anyhow.. Enjoi

So... I can relax.. So the weekend was fun. Thursday I was able to go and see The Foo Fighters. Amazing!! I saw them back in 2003 but wasn't able to get close enough because at the BDO '03 you had to be in the mosh pit to go forward. Anyhow we got there early and I went in and got a position close to the front but not right at the front. Ellen, Elissa, Joe, Sunny, Jack, James and Farley are all there... The Fooies start and bang!! we are start to press forward. So we were totally in the mosh pit out the front and loved every bit of it. We were all drenched in ours and others people sweat by the end. People were getting crushed (not to death) and they loved it. At the end of the gig the roadies threw things like drumsticks and pics etc. I was lucky enough to grab one of the pics. It's pretty cool. It has the initials DG on one side and then have the new album design on the other side.

I'd like to let you all know that Firstly, antibodies cause complement-dependent lysis (destruction) of the post synaptic acetylcholine receptors (AChR). Secondly, the antibodies are able to cross-link AChR which leads to an increased rate of degradation of the AChR which is called antigenic modulation (De Baets & Stassen, p7). Thirdly, in some patients the antibodies inhibit the AChR function directly (Vincent, Palace & Hilton-Jones, p.2125). I don't wanna think about it anymore. I realise I like assignments when I can do it my way and I felt like this assignment was not only wanting me to find the information but find the information the way that they wanted. I kinda like to find the info the way I want to... but had to make it look like I submitted to their requirements in the references and in text references... We'll see how I go.

The girls came down from Melbourne. Amelia, Tannyth, Kellie and Jane. Good fun! Great girls. I wasn't able to get out as much as I would have liked due to the assignment I had to get done. But I did venture out on both Friday and Saturday nights. Friday night went out to eat some sort of sizzling pork... tasted great. We wanted to go on a hike - but it was cold and rainy. So we went up to Dane's and watched the first bit of Monty pythons 'holy grail' then watched the IPL cricket...

Saturday night we saw a movie... was it good? yeah... was it average... yeah.... I can't make up my mind. it was called 'Be kind, rewind' It had Jack Black in it and did have some funny parts and I was laughing most of the way through. But then at the end when it was over... I felt like it wasn't really that funny and had a really lame ending. Anyhow.. Fun fun.

I have a physio appointment tomorrow... I also have football training. Wish me luck! mouth guard fits great! Hopefully this week is the week. I bought a thigh compression wrap and have been wearing it everywhere hoping that it will quicken the recovery process. I have compression shorts on the way from the states as well.

Oh and I got a letter from Freja today! 13 pages!! She put some pictures in as well. I wont write back as much cos I know what it's like to be out there. I'm trying to not write to often (every week) but more like once every 2 weeks. She has better things to think of than me. I'm glad I was able to serve in Korea. Had a kinda strange experience just a few hours ago. I was on the computer and somebody from Korea added me as a friend... I didn't recognise any of the the photos or the name... so I asked who she was. Then It all came back. She was a sister that I had Interviewed for baptism when I was a district leader. She had fond memories of meeting with the missionaries and even told me that she enjoyed meeting me and enjoyed being interviewed for baptism. So, she got baptised. Speaking to her now - she isn't active. She is too busy to go to church because she is studying to become a doctor, she is confused that the fundamental LDS church is the LDS church and a few other things... Saddened me that she had changed so much. This is all in Korean by the way. I went back into missionary mode. I committed her to go to church (LDS church) when she didn't have to work in the hospital. She said she would try as a lot of Koreans do... It's amazing how things work out. Some people that you think are perfect for the gospel end up rejecting it and then some people that you think would never accept it, progress and make changes in their lives. I have a map!

So you might have noticed I have a map on the side of my page. I only put it there out of interest and something to fill the page. I Like it! Everytime I look at my page there is usually a new place on the map. I even have a hit from Spain and England. So I was wondering how they got to my page? I was also wondering if I wanna this map filled out how do I get people from those countries. I haven't had a visit from China yet. I'd also like a visit from Ireland. Anyhow... Well I go and get my mouth guard tomorrow! But... The physio said no. So I'll be watching again this week. I went out to training last night and actually kicked the ball just once and then stopped cos I didn't wanna push my luck. I was good to finally get out there and do what the others are doing instead of doing straight lines down the side of the oval.

This weekend is going to be busy. I have an assignment due on Monday which is really hard to get done. It's not that it is hard to write the assignment but it is hard to write and reference for the sources they want. I have all the information here in textbooks. I have the information here on the internet (professional sources). But they don't want the info to come from there. They want most of the information to come from journal articles written after 2000. There are plenty of them but obviously not as clear as a text book. So I think I'm gonna use the information from the websites and textbooks and then scan the articles and like the appropriate articles to appropraite sentences. It's legal as long as the link up properly.

I also have the Foo fighters concert tomorrow. The girls from Melbourne come on in at around midnight tomorrow night. I'm sure I'll be up welcoming them. Friday is always busy. Saturday will be football and fun and Sunday I don't do homework. So I gotta do that assignment tomorrow and the early hours of Monday morning. I'm sure once I get a bit more written it will be easier to finish.

I also was testing out youtube. So I went on my laptop and recorded myself speaking Korean. It's only had about 60 hits in the past 2 days. But I guess that's good? It's pretty boring and I had/have a cold. But yeah I'm not sure I like haveing a video of myself up on the net. We'll see how it goes. Enjoi

So he ended up getting suspended for 7 weeks. But... He broke his wrist. So he wont be playing for that amount of time anyhow. Barry used to be an amateur boxer as well. Anyhow.. I gotta go and do some stuff. I had a dream last night that Ihad 6 hours to do a massive essay... And then I woke up. I also slept walked last night. Stayed in my room this time. Anyhow. Enjoi

I hate my leg!

Well I just got back from the physio and... I still can't play football. It's been just over 4 weeks now since the 2nd grade strain in my right hamstring. They say it takes 4-6 weeks to get back into it. For some strange reason I thought 4 weeks would be fine. The physio didn't. As I was lying down getting a massage that hurt like nothing other I heard a voice coming from one of the other rooms. I could hear his raspy voice... Due to privacy I won't say who it was.. But I felt like shouting his name out and having a convo whilst getting the massage... But I didn't. So I'm going back there next Tuesday and hopefully I'll be able to kick a ball by then.

So If I can play football in 10 or so days I need a mouth guard. Lucky I went last week and got one moulded. They did the moulds and then the lady was unsure if she should do it again. Then she thought it would be fine and sent me on my way. I get a call yesterday from the lab saying that I need to get the moulds done again... So I gotta go in tomorrow and get it moulded again. It feels so incredibly weird and the assist wipes you face afterwards like you are 3 again. Oh and the mouth gaurd costs $156!! Lucky once again my parents have health insurance. I went a few weeks back to get some old metalic looking fillings removed and filled with white stuff so it looks normal and it was $600!! But yeah... I signed the form and left the place not paying a cent. The physio's pretty cheap as well as health cover pays 60% of the physio bill.

I think I am overcoming my addiction to chocolate milk or maybe it's because I'm not at Uni at the moment or haven't been out with friends near places you can buy it. Apart from my mission I have spent the most money on this product. I would have spent thousands over the years. I've had it so much that the taste is just normal to me but I still love it. Not as special as it was when I was younger but without thought I go and grab one from the fridge. So now that I've started to overcome that... (for now) I got a McDonalds VIP card... so anytime i drive past on I stop in a get a cheese burger and get a med drink with it as well... On the way home yesterday I stopped of at 2 different McDonalds... Sad... But it's holidays. Oh well... Enjoi

So... I'm back. It has been a while since writing. Kinda like writing in my journal. You know you should and you know you'll be happy when it's done but you can't bring yourself to do it. So it's been 6 weeks or so. I'm back at University and it's almost break time again. This semester I'm studying Anatomy and Biomechanics, Neuroscience and Evidence Based Practise. So far so good. No assignments or tests have occured yet but that will change soon. Anatomy and Biomechanics is good... But Neuroscience is crazy hard.

Well I came back from Sydney ages ago. Since then Freja also came down here and spent about 4 or 5 days with me before she went home and got on a plane and now she is in the Provo MTC. She'll be at Temple Square in just over a week. I'm not so good at writing. I've written twice... not bad for 4 weeks. I also sent a package... another one today cos I felt like I had been neglecting.

Football starts this Saturday... Pitty for me I have a grade 2 hamstring strain which has been plaguing me since December... Once I finaly get it right I will be so happy. I play for Walkerville which is pretty close to the city. Quite a few of the guys from church are playing for them as well. I reckon there would be about 10 or so of us.

Mum is in Sydney cos Kate had her baby! Todd and Kate called him Dane and I just saw some of the pictures. Cute baby. There are some real ugly ones... One of the guys in my mission called one of the sisters in our mission's baby an alien... seriously did look like an alien but looks normal now. So the family is getting bigger and not all of us have started yet. I've got 2 and a half years before that even starts as I explained to mum. She was planning a cruise for later and I told her I wont be able to afford it cos I'll be newly married. Not sure if that is going to be the case, but it would be nice. I'm pretty much one of the older guys in the group I chill with. I'm not even saying I'm old. People just get married an leave us behind.

I'm going gokarting tonight... I also feel like sleeping now. I thought I better get this started again. Before Freja left she told me 'If I was a fan of your blog I would be very disappointed with the amount that you write'. Lucky I'm not big yet... anyhow... Enjoi

I just got back from Sydney today and have been there for the past week. I slept most of today. I still need lots of sleep. I just thought I'd write this to make it so the gap hasn't been too long. I should write again in the next few days. Tomorrow I'll be at the beach and I wont feel like it after that. I'll leave you with this video... I saw this last night when I was half asleep! I thought I had just taken panadol... I hadn't I took Dolased Analgesic which turns out to be the same as panadol but it's also a sedative... So this was funny.. but I couldn't stay awake. A week I will remember

It has been a week I will remember. First of all the passing of President Hinkley. A car full of people travelling down south to enjoy Australia day in the sun at a pool. We got a phone call from Vince letting us know that our dear prophet had passed away. After a second of sadness we all kind of just sat there and I drove. We came to the conclusion that yeah it might seem sad but we also felt glad that he is back with his beautiful wife and continuing the work on the other side of the veil. He served with his full heart for such a long time and will be remembered for his love for The Lord. I served my full-time mission under President Hinkley and I feel privilaged to have done so.

Friday morning Freja and Jade came in from Sydney for their Australia Day Radelaide visit. I was at work when they flew in so lucky I have a sister that is kind and she went in picked them up. After working for a few hours putting tabletops on legs and boring things like that it was time to go and see Sarah come home from her mission (temple square). Dallin, Kathryn, Ads, Steph and myself were the friends that went and once we got there we found out she'd be an hour late. So... We had a really big lunch break from work and got to see Sarah for the first time in 18 months. She walked backwards through the airport holding her mums hand. That might sound weird... but it seemed to me that how it would be done in temple square without the hand holding bit. I hit up temple square... In the MTC and the sisters were lovely and you could see they were looking for opportunities to testify and to change peoples hearts. Anyhow.. so we left and went back to work. Work is done... time to go home? no... I went to the fancy dress store with Micky B and we picked pot costumes for Alex and Emma's 21st party. 'Braveheart it is' is thought before I went in... When inside I also thought about willy wonka... But braveheart won. I got the party and it was a success! I loved it! It even came with a sword! The night was fun!

Saturday was the beach day! We drove for about an hour and went to Port Norlunga! It was nice! The weather was warm the water was reasonable... not freezing. Not too warm. So Hayley, Katie and myself decide we'll swim out to some stair on the jetty. We made it but the Katie went back. So Hayley and I go to the coral at the end of the jetty and walk on it. It's not the best for your feet. Kinda hurt a little.. nothing to bad though. I decided even though Hayley is a nurse she would be no good at saving me if I was drowning. That's just the feeling I get. So I had to get to a baptism at 6 so Freja and Vince came with me and we got on the 'world's only reversible junk freeway'. Got gelati and and got ready for the baptism. Ki Byeong Ho was the man! He's a Korean! I love Koreans! Living with Min Jun (The most awesome recent convert) he was taught about the gospel in about one month. Amazing guy! The talks were given in Korean (I could understand - noone else could). Dane and I sang Nearer, My God to Thee as the musical item ( I sang Bass). I gave the closing prayer and then off home we went.

I put some chicken on the bbq and we ate it... It was nice. Feeling pretty lazy we sat down afterwards and just started watching Heath Ledger movies. A knights tale and the Patriot. It was a late night... But fun!

Sunday was Afternoon Church. I really enjoy the afternoon church. Get to sleep in a bit and then get up and get ready for church at your own pace. We were still not there early... Sarah gave her homecoming talk and it was great. You could see how much her mission meant to her and could feel the spirit strong. She had strength and knowldege of the scriptures. Sunday night there was a fireside and Elder Jackson from the 70 shared many great thoughts. We have to be ready now... who knows what is going to happen tomorrow. He also asked us to pray for President Hinkley.

Yesterday was the Australia day pool party I mentioned. We went down to candice's place and enjoyed the day. good food, good friends, good country. I baked the famous chocolate chip oat cookies that I usually do and they went quick. People were in the pool and spa and eating and getting some sun. It was heaps of fun!

Last night after Sarah's open house we headed off to 'The Bakery'. The food isnt that good... but it's always open and usually has classic chocolate there. Freja had her Digital SLR so I played with that for a bit. It got late we went home and I was up late! Got up this morning at 5 to go to the airport and send the girls home... Sad but had to be done. So... I got back home just before 6 and then went to bed and didn't go to work... then decided I needed to go to work... So I worked half the day cos I was wasted from that weekend... It was fun for me... hope you Enjoi.

So yesterday morning I went down to Normanvill for the YM/Elders camp and it was rad! We spent most of the day down at the beach playing beach cricket! Team Soininen won! I got out for 3 but the others did me proud. The water was really nice as well. I'm getting so brown and it was just great. For luch I had a steak and bacon pie which was fantastic and I had a classic chocolate milk. For those that don't know... I'm addicted to them. I had 2 yesterday and 1 today. Apart from my mission I would have to say i spent the most money on that. It's just a habbit and a need. We played tonnes of cricket when we got back to camp, we had this rubber type of ball that had a really nice bounce to it. Came back late last night with Dave cos I had to work today.

So I woke up at 7:25 this morning. I start work at 7:30. In fact... Mum woke me up at 7:25 this morning and i rolled... then got out of bed eventually. Got to work and the bos lady didnt seem to care one bit. She just told me that i would be speaking and have a room. For the next hour I just walked around the centre telling people to take their bags downstairs. So the test should begin at 9am... I reckon we started ours at 9:18... We get in the room and the aircon is so loud! It sounds like there is a fan about to fall and kill someone. So we changed it up and made people do a different part oif the test and then 8 mins later the aircon goes off. It's nice and quiet and nice... for about 5 mins before it started to get hot and youcould feel it... people in a room... international students in a room! So when that part of the test is done we have to move them to another room which is tiny... I'm pretty much sitting in some Chinese persons lap... So when she wrote the wrong answers i pretty much would cringe cos I could see it all. We caught up.. I don't know how and got back on the right track time wise. So that was work. I marked about 40 tests and they pretty muc didnt do very well... Poor international people.

Tonight Ben, Eli and Matti (Kelly's boys) are round to sleep and Nat McCappins wedding is on. So lucky them we get to go to Hungry Jacks... Worst meal ever... The chicken isn't chicken... the rolls aren't rolls... but yeah good times. It's been a long and fun day. I've smiled and the weather is nice. Church is tomorrow and a nice day of relaxing from the cares of the world... not that I have many cares... but yeah... I'm out. Enjoi

This morning before I went to work I went to the dentist and had some work done. This time the dentist lady didnt even see if I needed more numbness. She just doubled to dosage - due to experience. One time She sent me home without doing anything cos I wouldn't go numb even after 4 injections - I put this down to being a big guy and having exams in the same week. Anyways... Cos of health insurance I didn't have to pay a thing... It would have cost over $300 bucks... I'd rather spend that kinda of money on a SLR camera. I should be able to justify that soon.

I'm going on an Elders qurom/ young mens camp tomorrow! Should be a lot of fun. We are going down to Normanville and we have a whole lot of activities planned. We have a great bunch of young men in our ward. I taught a lot of them when I was first 18 - they were in deacons and now they are about 2 years off of their missions. I'm gonna go eat some dinner now... I'll leave you with a few pics from the Brisbane/Geelong expedition. Enjoi

Well... I woke up this morning with gladness in my heart that I didn't fall off the balcony in my sleep. I had a pretty eventful night last night. I remember having some sort of dream with people from Melbourne in it. I think we were playing a game where we had to get out of wherever we were quickly. Anyhow long story short I pulled my stereo system off the shelf and onto the floor and somehow scratched my arm while trying to escape or hide under the shelves... I also opened the door to my balcony ran out there and slammed the doorshut. I ran to the other side of the balcony and looked down at the roof and then I came back to reality and looked down and I was still holding my pillow. I'm pretty happy I didn't do anything more stupid than all that and jump on the roof or something like that. Anyhow I think I better lock my door outside now.

So I'm working fulltime now and loving the cash that it brings in. I fully need to save up again as I depleted so much of my funds on my Geelong/Brisbane expedition. It was way fun though and I met a lot of cool people. I don't head back to uni for another 6 weeks or so... It's party time I reckon! That's enough for now. I thought I better get it started. here it is. Enjoi
